About the job About this role: Irrigation System Design & Management Design and implement efficient irrigation systems for landscaped areas, including drip irrigation, sprinklers, and subsurface watering systems. Optimize water distribution and pressure to ensure uniform watering and plant health. Integrate smart irrigation controllers and automated watering systems for water conservation. Soil Analysis & Fertility Management Conduct soil testing and analysis to assess nutrient levels, pH balance, and drainage capacity. Recommend and implement soil enhancement techniques to improve plant growth and sustainability. Develop soil erosion prevention and remediation strategies for landscaped areas. Drainage & Water Management Solutions Design stormwater management and drainage systems to prevent flooding and soil degradation. Implement rainwater harvesting and water recycling systems for sustainable landscaping. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water conservation policies. Sustainable Landscaping & Environmental Conservation Develop and promote eco-friendly landscaping techniques that reduce water and chemical usage. Implement low-impact development (LID) solutions, such as bioswales, green roofs, and permeable pavements. Support the integration of native and drought-resistant plant species to reduce maintenance costs. Crop & Plant Selection for Landscaping Projects Assist in selecting appropriate plant species based on climate, soil conditions, and sustainability goals. Develop seasonal planting schedules and maintenance plans to ensure landscape longevity. Conduct research on plant diseases, pest control, and organic fertilization methods. Smart Agriculture & Precision Farming in Landscaping Implement IoT-based monitoring systems for plant health and irrigation efficiency. Use drones and sensors to collect data on soil moisture, temperature, and plant stress levels. Develop automated fertilization and irrigation programs based on real-time data. Greenhouse & Nursery Operations Manage greenhouse and plant nursery operations to support landscape projects. Oversee seed propagation, plant breeding, and controlled-environment agriculture techniques. Optimize growth conditions using temperature, humidity, and light regulation systems. Waste Management & Composting Solutions Develop organic waste recycling programs, including composting of landscape waste. Promote biodegradable mulching and organic fertilizers to improve soil quality. Reduce landscape waste by reusing pruned materials and plant residues. Research & Development in Agricultural Engineering Conduct research on sustainable agricultural technologies for landscaping applications. Evaluate and implement new irrigation technologies, soil conditioners, and pest control methods. Develop pilot projects to test advanced agricultural engineering solutions for landscapes. Compliance with Agricultural & Environmental Regulations Ensure that all agricultural engineering activities comply with local and international environmental laws. Obtain necessary permits for irrigation, drainage, and chemical usage in landscaping projects. Monitor landscape projects to ensure compliance with sustainability and water conservation policies. Cost Optimization & Resource Management Develop budget-friendly irrigation and fertilization plans to reduce operational costs. Optimize the use of natural resources, fertilizers, and pesticides to minimize waste. Work on reducing water consumption and maximizing productivity in landscape maintenance. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with landscape architects, civil engineers, and environmental specialists to develop integrated landscape solutions. Provide training and technical support to landscaping teams on soil management, irrigation, and sustainable practices. Communicate with government agencies, environmental organizations, and suppliers to ensure project success. Accept accountability of his/her individual user accounts, and maintain confidentiality Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is required: Agricultural Engineering Irrigation and Water Resources Engineering Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Water Resource Management, Sustainable Landscaping, or Precision Agriculture is advantage. 3+ years of experience in agricultural engineering, irrigation system design, soil management, or water resource engineering with a focus on landscaping projects. Proven expertise in developing and implementing water-efficient irrigation and drainage systems for parks, gardens, and urban landscapes. Ability to interpret landscape blueprints, CAD drawings, and irrigation system layouts. Experience working with landscape architects, civil engineers, and urban planners on green space development. Strong project management skills to supervise the installation of irrigation and drainage systems. Familiarity with as-built documentation and construction site monitoring for compliance.
